CMAI's Fashion Retail Summit

As part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations, the Association is organising "CMAI's Fashion Retail Summit" on Wednesday, 8th May, 2013 at 9:30 AM at The Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai. This Summit is an effort to showcase the opportunity in Indian Fashion Retail with a 360° perspective of all the Key Elements in the Value Chain. The Theme for the Summit is appropriately titled "Envisioning the Robust Growth of Fashion Retail in India from USD 40 Billion to USD 125 Billion by 2020". The Summit will have Participation of the Industry Leaders, National and International Brands and Retailers, Senior Representatives from Global Fashion Houses and other relevant experts to deliberate on Fashion Retail in India, its Opportunities and Challenges and Developing a Road Map for Growth. Participation in the Summit is by Invitation only.

57th National Garment Fair

The 57th National Garment Fair, organised by CMAI, will be held between 1st July 2013 and 3rd July 2013 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, NSE Complex, Goregaon (East), Mumbai 400 063. We are glad to inform you that the Association has received an "Overwhelming Response" from Members for Participation. So far, the Association has received Applications for Participation from over 480 Brands from all over India The Fair Sub-Committee of the Association has decided to Close the Booking for Participation on Friday, 10th May, 2013. Members who have not yet sent their Application Form for Participation are once again requested to send their Participation before 10th May, 2013 so as to avoid any last minute disappointment. The Draw of Lot for Allotment of Stalls is proposed to be held on Friday, 31st May 2013 in Mumbai. The Exact Venue & Time will be intimated to the Exhibitors by the Association.

51st India International Garment Fair

The 51st India International Garment Fair - Spring / Summer 2014, organised by International Garment Fair Association (IGFA) , will be held between 15th & 17th July 2013 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Association has so far forwarded 97 Applications admeasuring 2346 Sq mtrs Area to IGFA, New Delhi. Members who are interested to Participate in the said Fair, are requested to contact Mr. Vijay Sharma, Dy Secretary of the Association at 23538547, 23538986 or on his Mobile - 9820593780.

Seminar on Local Body Tax ( LBT )

The Western Regional Committee of the Association organised a Seminar on 12th March 2013 at Hotel Basera, Pune on Local Body Tax ( LBT ) for the benefit of Western Regional Members of the Association. 80 Members Participated in the Seminar. Mr Amit Shah, Chartered Accountant, who was the Guest Speaker, informed the Members of the Local Body Tax, its Implications, Registration process etc. He further clarified that this Tax is liable only for the Dealers who Sell or Purchase Goods of R5,000/- outside the City Limit or the Monthly Sale or Purchase Transaction is of R1.00 Lakh. He also stated that the LBT is payable by 10th of every Month and is a Self-Assessment Tax and one can file the Return every Six Months or Yearly.   Source: http://www.cmai.in/News.asp
